Teaching children how to learn to save

The 2 co-founders of www.saveabitspendabit.co.uk were discussing the breaking story of the Farepak scandal on the same day as the various Children in need events. We came to the conclusion that the 2 events, though not directly connected, were part of a massive problem; we realised that a few pounds donation to either or even both funds would make very little difference.

We decided that the only way forward was for the eradication of the debt culture and to encourage a saving habit which would penetrate through all areas of an individual’s life.

Phew! That looks like a big job for someone. We  went back to our respective offices and started tinkering around on Google and discovered that there appeared to be no healthy finance programme in place to educate children how to create this habit.

There is plenty of advice for parents about healthy eating. Any parent will have a dozen daily conversations about food and excess and the perils of sweeties and eating enough of the right food etc. Many government initiatives headed up by national heroes ensure this gets centre stage to bring the message home. You would have thought then, that something as important as the state of the nations financial health would be well up there on the national agenda.

Unfortunately not!.............So, a life coach and a financial adviser set about creating a change in the culture and offer you this site.
